Hermès stuns the world of horology once more with its new Arceau Cavalier en Formes, an intricate blend of luxury, history, and artistic prowess.

The house of Hermès, renowned for its legendary fusion of horology and haute couture, has unveiled its latest masterpiece: the Arceau Cavalier en Formes. Born from the creative genius of the brand’s acclaimed artistic director Henri d’Origny in 1978, the Arceau collection is celebrated for its stirrup-shaped lugs that are a tribute to Hermès’ equestrian roots.

Combining a highly sophisticated tourbillon and minute repeater complication with an artistically decorated dial, this new showstopper articulates the best of the collection’s strengths. Echoing Hermès’ journey from an upscale harness and saddlery workshop in Paris in 1837 to a global luxury powerhouse today, the Arceau Cavalier en Formes is a homage to the brand’s heritage and evolution.

The artful dial further boasts of applied elements and openworked hands. The watch’s imaginative play of colours, shapes and dimensions culminate into a powerful three-dimensional presence. The miniature painting and engraving on the dial reveal a gold horse in sharp contrast to the abstract shapes.

This visually captivating dial also houses a tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The cage displays the dual Hermès ‘H’s found on the wrought-iron door of Hermès’ flagship store at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, underscoring the watchmaker’s attention to detail and symbolic references.

The Arceau Cavalier en Formes is powered by the H1924 manual-winding movement developed by Manufacture Haute Complications. The watch, offered with the Hermès Abyss Blue alligator strap, guarantees a 90-hour power reserve and is released in a limited edition of six pieces. This high-end timepiece marries the timeless and stylish, encapsulating Hermès’ illustrious history and devotion to horological artistry.
