Schwarz Etienne Elevates Watch Craftsmanship with the New Edition of the '1902 Petite Seconde Heure Dorée'
Schwarz Etienne, a respected name in the horological community, has enriched its ‘1902’ collection with a new release, the Petite Seconde Heure Dorée. The 1902 collection has consistently demonstrated an impressive array of variants, including the Petite Seconde, Power Reserve, and GMT models – all reflecting the brand’s commitment to developing and producing in-house movements.
The Petite Seconde Heure Dorée enriches its familiar model by venturing into darker aesthetics, incorporating a deep-black dial and a Grade 5 titanium case with a black multi-layer DLC coating. Adorned with gold-toned details, the watch challenges the dichotomy of light and shadow, juxtaposing it with the day’s final hours.
The deep-black dial combines a silky grained centre with a black opaline upper plate, resulting in a striking contrast that intensifies as it interacts with light. The Petite Seconde Heure Dorée showcases polished 4N gold-toned logos and indices, and lancine-style hour and minute hands rendered in 4N PVD. To add continuity to the design, the minute and small-seconds tracks share the same colour as the indices and hands.
The watch’s transparent caseback reveals the impressive automatic movement with a micro-rotor, the Schwarz Etienne ASE 300.00. Comprising 191 components and 29 jewels, it operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour, and stores an 86-hour power reserve.
The movement has been treated with anthracite and ruthenium tones to mirror the dial, featuring circular and concentric Côtes de Genève, along with sandblasted mainplate with features of polished bevels and tone-on-tone engraving. The meticulously designed micro-rotor and ratchet wheel carry forth the harmony in design.
This intricately designed timepiece is fitted on a black Cordura strap, secured with a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle sharing the same black DLC coating as the watch’s case.
The 1902 Petite Seconde Heure Dorée, limited to just 8 pieces, comes with a hefty price tag of EUR 21,890 - a testament to the uniqueness and exclusivity of this remarkable piece.
