Famed Watchmaker Tissot Expands PRX Collection with Its Flamboyant PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition

Tissot, with a rich legacy of crafting magnificent timepieces, recently unveiled the PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition. This unique watch is part of Tissot’s PRX range, known for its distinctive 1970s appeal. The cutting-edge skeletonised design specially crafted in association with NBA superstar Damian Lillard brings fresh intrigue to the collection. This second Damian Lillard edition, following the Powermatic 80 model, comes with several collection firsts, including a skeletonised display, hand-wound mechanics, and the biggest PRX case to date at 44mm. The Special Edition retains the integrated design of PRX, with Damian Lillard’s signature engraved onto the transparent caseback, distinguishing it from regular offerings. While embracing the sports spirit, the watch’s burgundy colour scheme brilliantly frames the openworked movement. The faceted hour markers on burgundy-coloured rings and Dame Time inscriptions contribute to an extravagant overall aesthetic. The timepiece is designed to ensure optimum legibility in the dark, thanks to Super-LumiNova treatment on indices and hands. Being the first hand-wound PRX, the Skeleton Damian Lillard presents a more engaging relationship between the wearer and the watch’s mechanics. The openworked display unveils the ETA Unitas 6497 calibre with a 46-hour power reserve. A choice of rubber and leather burgundy straps is provided, each serving symbolism. The rubber strap displays a crosshatched pattern paying homage to Lillard’s childhood memories of milk crates-turned-basketball hoops. An unexpected feature is the pocket-watch conversion set, enriching the versatility of this edition.
