Discover the Uniqueness of MING's Worldtimer 57.05 'Comet': A Stylish Evolution of Mechanical Timekeeping
MING embraces the thrill of horological innovation by reinventing the common wristwatch archetype through its unique design approach. Deviating from purely aesthetic participations, MING introduces a freshly refined Worldtimer complication, making its mark with the new 57.05 ‘Comet’ watch.
Under the creative direction of founder, Ming Thein, the 57.05 ‘Comet’ distinguishes itself from other world time watches by adopting an ergonomic feature that has long been a sore point for watch connoisseurs — observing daylight savings time. The conventional model of world time watches, which lets you read the current time anywhere in the world via a 24-hour disc and a reference city ring, traditionally fails to account for daylight savings time as well as the 30-minute differences in certain regions, like India.
Borrowing its name from the world’s first commercial jet airliner — the de Havilland Comet airplane, the 57.05 ‘Comet’ boasts of an elegantly harmonious blend of art deco and unique MING elements. The 40mm wide watch case exhibits cascading lugs and a prominent bezel design in steel. The watch case, which stands 10.3mm thick and spans a 47.8mm distance from lug to lug, is water-resistant up to 100 meters, ensuring it is as robust as it is alluring.
The entire MING 57.05 ‘Comet’ composition pays testament to the spirit of refined watchmaking design known to the MING brand. With its bold innovation, stunning visuals and intelligent functionality, this timepiece is indeed celestial in more ways than one.
