Unveiling Héron’s Mirabel GMT: A Delicate Ballet of Vintage Dress Codes and Modern Functionality

Published: 26 Apr 2026
Montreal-based brand Héron ingeniously marries vintage dress watches' appeal with the modern complication of GMT in their Mirabel model.

Héron, the Montreal-based watch brand, has ushered in its fourth model, the Héron Mirabel GMT. This timepiece successfully encapsulates the nuanced sophistication of vintage dress watches and the modern allure of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) – a complication that has gained popularity in contemporary watchmaking. For dress watches, with fewer details, flaws stand out, making their craftsmanship arguably more challenging and impressive. Yet, these timepieces have found their niche in recent years, featuring quite frequently in the affordable watch sector.

The Héron Mirabel GMT skillfully harmonizes vintage charm with modern calculation and versatility. Staying true to vintage design, its case recalls the timeless, classic aesthetics. However, current touches in faceting and finishing keep the watch aligned with the contemporary trends. This brilliant offering comes in a choice of five models: stainless steel versions with a light brown, white, or blue dial, and gold PVD versions with brown or black dials.

The underlying strength of this watch lies in its custom-made padded leather straps by Delugs, specifically catering to the Héron brand. They quite seamlessly curve in towards their ends, ensuring that the watch’s profile remains elegant and non-blocky. Plus, their kinked buckle design plays a part in increasing the straps’ lifespan.

As for the dial, despite the changing colors across the various versions, they all share a common layout. The two highlighted models feature sunray minute tracks against a matte finish, enhancing the watch’s appeal. The Héron Mirabel GMT, with its deliberate blend of vintage design cues and modern GMT functionality, distinctively stands out in the horological world.
