Vaer Pioneers the Game with the Affordable G2 Fairway GMT Golf Watch-Fusing Sports Passion with Timekeeping

Los Angeles-based watch brand Vaer reimagines the golf watch with their latest release, the G2 Fairway GMT.

Vaer, a brand known for classic categories like divers, GMT, field watches, and racing chronographs, has recently released the G2 Fairway GMT, a unique blend of the brand’s entry-level quartz GMT model and an analog golf scorekeeping system. This creation shifts the perspective from traditional analog watches’ symbolic purpose within sports, to a timepiece that serves a practical function in the golfing world. Rather than being a performance tool for elite golfers, the G2 Fairway GMT provides a convenient way of tracking scores on the course while serving as a stylish everyday timepiece that subtly hints at the wearer’s affection for golf.

While the G2 Fairway GMT shares similar dimensions with its G2 Meridian siblings, the sapphire crystal fitted appears in a slightly different shape. It is subtly box-shaped with a flat upper surface that extends above the bezel by about half a millimeter. The decision to use the 39mm format was a smart move as its smaller profile is less obtrusive when the wearer is swinging a golf club.

Taking the spotlight is the bezel on the G2 Fairway GMT, which transforms this model into a golf-themed watch. Its mechanism and markings have been redesigned to function as an analog scorekeeping system. Unlike Vaer’s standard G2 models, the G2 Fairway GMT’s bezel rotates bidirectionally with a snappy 24-click action, featuring black and orange numerals corresponding with the scoring system for golf.

The G2 Fairway GMT stands as a testament not only to the ingenuity of Vaer but also to the limitless potential of reinventing classic timepieces.
