Diving Deep: Rediscovering the Doxa Sub 200 T-Graph II, a Revered Icon from the 70s

Published: 15 Jun 2026
Doxa offers an exciting look back in time by reviving its revered Sub 200 T-Graph II, a landmark 1970s diving chronograph.

The world of diving is rich in legends, many tracing back to the sport’s infancy, a time when safety margins were still being determined and recorded. Vintage Doxa dive watches emerged during this vibrant era, towards the end of the sport’s golden age, marking the transition from thrilling exploration to relaxed holiday pastime. The brand’s designs are impactful mementos from this historic period in aquatic adventure.

Doxa achieved significant success with the launch of the SUB 300T in 1968, when U.S. Divers Co., now known as Aqualung, took over distribution in the U.S. market. However, with continuous changes and increasing challenges within the Swiss watch industry, Doxa found the need for strategic partnerships to stay afloat. The brand was eventually acquired by the Synchron Group, whose member roster includes brands such as Eberhard, Cyma, and Borel, offering much-needed stability.

The T-Graph’s initial run was brief, with an estimated 300 units crafted in Doxa’s distinctive Sharkhunter black, Searambler silver, and Professional orange colorways. Most faced the harsh reality of a diver’s life, succumbing to the trials of time and neglect. Despite its scarcity, the T-Graph has remained a cherished anomaly among dive watch connoisseurs. Currently, watch enthusiasts are being treated to a captivating sight as Doxa unveils the modern incarnations of the Professional and Caribbean T-Graph II models. The grandeur of the past meets contemporary craftsmanship in these time-telling marvels.
