L.Leroy Reveals Prestigious Vox Temporis with a Single-Hand Display and Minute Repeater

The world of horology welcomes the resurgence of L.Leroy, named after the eminent 18th-century watchmaker, Charles Leroy. Over the past few years, the brand has been making a dashing comeback with high-end sophisticated timepieces. Yet, the first remarkable piece that marked this revival was a distinctive fusion of a minute repeater and a tourbillon, launched at the 2023 Only Watch auction. This single-hand timepiece was a tribute to a Leroy tact watch from 1810, designed for Prince Emil Maximilian Leopold August of Hesse, and currently curated in the Patek Philippe Museum collection.

The humble single-hand approach is perfectly suited for time spectators not possessed with an obsession for seconds. Nevertheless, for those who crave minute precision, the minute repeater mechanism makes this task a breeze. The Vox Temporis - ‘voice of time’ in Latin - lives up to its name with this unique feature.

The L.Leroy Vox Temporis case, a 43mm drum-shaped delight, comes in 18k red gold, 950 platinum, or grade 5 titanium. The timepiece boasts a hinged officer-style caseback that can be released via the 4 o’clock pusher, revealing the intricate, manually wound L601SQR calibre inside. This mechanism, a product of Geneva’s Régence Production SA, marries a minute repeater with a one-minute flying tourbillon. The 321-component masterwork operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and contains a 90-hour power reserve.

Delicately placed on a black alligator leather strap, and adorned with the brand’s double-L logo on the folding clasp, the L.Leroy Vox Temporis exudes refined stateliness. The timepiece is released in a limited edition of 15 pieces across the three versions.
