The Astonishing Transition of Kross Studio's MT1 into Marco Tedeschi's MT1.1 Tourbillon 7 Jours
Marco Tedeschi’s MT1.1 Tourbillon 7 Jours, the evolution of Kross Studio’s MT1, showcases an exquisite fusion of modern aesthetics with masterful craftsmanship. Kross Studio has marked its trajectory in the world of unconventional watchmaking through its highly original openworked designs and collaborations with pop-culture phenomena like Star Wars and Batman. In 2026, the brand took a bold step in evolving with a rebranding to Marco Tedeschi, while keeping the collaboration part under the original Kross Studio umbrella. This transition gave way to the formation of the new MT1.1 Tourbillon 7 Jours.
Despite its size, 44mm across and just over 15mm thick, the lack of a conventional lug design offers the illusion of a smaller wear on the wrist. Each version maintains the same structure, but the different materials lend a unique aesthetic to each. The Grade 5 titanium version sticks to simplicity, the black DLC-coated model lends a darker appeal, while the tantalum version adds a rare quality, given its scarce use in watchmaking. The pink gold variant, on the other hand, adds a warm hue against the typically dark and industrial look of the watch.
The clear exhibition of mechanics within the watch is balanced with an easy-to-follow display. The new power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock complements the flying tourbillon positioned at 6 o’clock, giving the layout an aesthetic symmetry. Rose gold-colored hands with white Super-LumiNova starkly stand out against the darker movement, especially on the tantalum and black DLC versions. A large bridge and concentric patterns are visibly situated on the back of the watch. At the heart of the MT1.1 Tourbillon, the in-house caliber MT 7010 IRM, a manual-winding movement, operates at 21,600 vibrations/hour, ensuring a seven-day power reserve.
