Glashütte Original Introduces New Senator Chronographs: The Adventurous Navigator and an Updated Classic

Glashütte Original surprises the watch world with the unveiling of two fresh interpretations of its Senator Chronographs. These new chronographs are the latest evolution of the brand’s acclaimed Senator collection and represent the different facets of the brand’s design philosophy.

First off, the brand introduces the Senator Chronograph Navigator, a timepiece that significantly departs from the brand’s classical design signature. Unlike the conventional Senator dial bearing Roman numerals, the Navigator opts for utilitarian aesthetics, reminiscent of tool-watch designs. A matte black dial, solid luminous Arabic hour numerals, and white dial text offer a sharp visual contrast and enhanced legibility. Notably, this new design is Glashütte Original’s only typical tool-watch style outside of its SeaQ dive watch series.

Simultaneously, both watches share common features in terms of specifications. Each has a 41mm stainless steel case, measuring 12.9mm in thickness and 48.5mm lug-to-lug—a slight reduction from the previous 42mm Senator Chronographs. Moreover, the in-house automatic chronograph Caliber 37-24 powers both models. This movement, complete with flyback functionality, an oversized Panorama Date, silicon balance spring, and a 70-hour power reserve, is a substantial testament to Glashütte Original’s technical prowess.

Price-wise, both the Senator Chronograph and Senator Chronograph Navigator come with a $17,100 price tag on a steel bracelet, while versions on textile or alligator leather straps are priced slightly lower at $16,100.
