Revealing the Patek Philippe 6105G Celestial: A Modern Evolution of the Brand’s Sunrise and Sunset Complication

Published: 05 May 2026
Patek Philippe has unveiled their Celestial 6105G watch, depicting a contemporary twist on the brand's astronomical complications.

Patek Philippe is famously restrained in its designs, emphasising traditional elegance and classic motifs. However, with their Celestial 6105G watch revealed at the Watches & Wonders 2026, they skilfully weave a thread of modernity through their notable astronomical pieces. The Celestial 6105G, an evolution of their recently discontinued Ref. 6102, introduces a dazzling sunrise and sunset display to their already intricate astronomical design, encased in a 47mm white gold shell. The lug-less case and integrated rubber strap emphasise the larger, contemporaneous aesthetic. Complementing its modern edge, a unique cross-hatched pattern adorns the case-band and case-back, drawing inspiration from the structural framework of space modules. Despite its substantial size, the Celestial 6105G ensures a comfortable grip, primarily due to its lug-less case and integrated strap. Finally, the night sky from Geneva, or any other city sharing its latitude in the northern hemisphere, finds a place on the dial, featuring rotating discs to portray the stirring movement of the stars and the changing phases of the moon. The edge of the dial cleverly accommodates the sunrise and sunset times in a nod to the brand’s horological ingenuity.
