Discover Mido’s Latest Release: The Sophisticated Multifort 8 One Crown Revels in Black PVD

Published: 31 Jul 2026
The iconic Mido Multifort 8 One Crown receives a powerful upgrade – a highly anticipated all-black variant, destined to take the spotlight in 2026.

Delving into the annals of horological sophistication, Mido, a cherished asset of the Swatch Group, ascends onto the stage once again, proudly displaying its latest entrant. Direct from Mido’s revered Multifort lineage comes the Multifort 8 One Crown, freshly outfitted in a striking all-black theme.

Established in 1918 in the heart of Switzerland, Mido enjoys its reputation as a treasured denizen of the Swatch Group. Adored for its illustrious heritage, exceptional value, and impressive build-quality, the brand takes another step forward into the future. Recent years have seen Mido’s focus reorient towards distinctive designs, rekindling the glory of historic favourites and introducing bold new entries. The brand’s Multifort series is the triumphant standard-bearer, flaunting its ancestry from Mido’s 1934 mission of crafting modern tool watches, pursuing robustness, water resistance, and immunity from magnetic fields and shocks.

Arriving as a worthy addition to its predecessor, the Multifort 8 Two Crown, the reborn One Crown variant projects a simpler aesthetic. Lesser dial elements yield a streamlined watch face, embracing the true essence of an integrated sports watch. Cloaked in a tonneau-shaped case, crowned with an octagonal bezel, the watch features a textured dial and an integrated bracelet equipped with a quick-release system.

Although it dons a powerful black PVD-coated steel outfit, the watch parallels its precursor in size— 40mm diameter, 9.9mm thickness, with a lug-to-lug span of 44.86mm. A water resistance of up to 100 metres orients this variant as a worthy choice for wearers who seek a rugged companion, equal parts resilient and stylish.

Sacrificing the second crown, the One Crown doesn’t employ the wide, sloping countdown bezel of the Two Crown. Instead, a slim minutes track now encircles the open dial, which bears the signature horizontal line design distinctive of the Multifort series. Polished hour markers line the matte dial with wide channels filled with Super-LumiNova.

In the domain of Mido’s horological finery, the Multifort 8 One Crown in Black PVD channels a daring combination of classical elegance and modern audacity. While paying homage to yesteryears, the prestigious brand also prepares for an exciting future.
