Unveiling Rolex's Green Ombré Dial Datejust 41: A Stellar Homage to a Hundred Years of Oyster Dominance

Published: 17 Apr 2026
Rolex celebrates 100 years of watchmaking prowess with the release of the alluring Green Ombré Dial Datejust 41, an impeccable piece that commemorates the brand's Oyster legacy.

Rolex has made another indelible mark in the world of horology with the introduction of the Green Ombré Dial Datejust 41, a unique timepiece that carries a significant historical lineage. This exclusive release is part of the brand’s grand centennial celebration of the Oyster case - a monumental invention dating back to 1926, which utilized a water and dust-resistant case, pioneering a new era in watchmaking.

While most would expect a revamped take on Rolex’s iconic Submariner, Sea-Dweller, or Deepsea dive watch lines for this significant milestone, Rolex instead decided to gift its admirers with new Oyster Perpetuals, Daytona, Yacht-Master II, and the enchanting Datejust 41. Not surprisingly, the brand’s decision to launch a special stainless-steel Daytona with expansive trimmings has been met with great acclaim, further cementing the marque’s eminence in the realm of luxury timepieces.

Encased in a 41 mm diameter 904L stainless steel case, the Datejust 41 runs on caliber 3235, a 4Hz automatic movement with bi-directional winding and an admirable power reserve of 70 hours. The water resistance of 100 meters and the Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link only add to the allure of this exemplary Rolex masterpiece.

As much as this release has delighted timepiece enthusiasts, many are still hopeful for Rolex to bring this innovative design to their professional dive watch segment. With the ground-up rebuilding of Rolex’s Fifth Avenue headquarters, whispers in the industry suggest that the brand has yet more exciting reveals planned for the near future.
