Frederique Constant Unveils a Trendsetting Twist to its Affordable, Complex Watch Model with a Burgundy Dial

Published: 17 Oct 2026
The Frederique Constant Manufacture Perpetual Calendar gets a refreshing update with a new burgundy dial, offering a stylish alternative for watch enthusiasts.

A brand admired for making luxury complications more accessible, Frederique Constant, introduced the Manufacture Perpetual Calendar in 2016. This timepiece initially attracted attention due to its reasonable pricing compared to many competitors’ offerings. In 2025, an upgrade included a sleeker 40mm case and an improved movement with an extended power reserve of 72 hours. Now, the much-loved model is back with yet another upgrade - a charming burgundy dial supplementing the existing salmon, silver, and blue versions.

The watch measures 40mm across and has a thickness of 12.1mm, maintaining the same stainless steel case as its 2025 predecessor. Its timeless design features include a rounded bezel, softened lugs, and a fluted onion crown, further establishing it as a traditional dress timepiece. A convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment offers premium protection to the dial, while a screw-down sapphire caseback reveals the intricate inner workings of its movement.

Under its hood, the watch is equipped with automatic FC-776, Frederique Constant’s in-house movement, amalgamating a base calibre and a perpetual calendar module. Its movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve lasting 72 hours. The movement reveals traditional Geneva-style finishing when viewed via the sapphire caseback, with perlage on the bridges and fan-shaped Côtes de Genève on the automatic winding bridge. Additionally, a gold-plated oscillating weight adds to the beauty of this intricate design. Accompanying the watch is a black alligator leather strap with a square-scale pattern and tone-on-tone stitching, contributing to its elegance. With a restriction of only 100 pieces, this chic burgundy edition is priced at CHF 10,295.
