Embrace the Future with Mondaine’s Dopplo Solar Skeleton: A Watch That Marries Minimalism with Edge

Published: 12 Oct 2026
An innovative mix of modern technology and classic design, the Mondaine Doppio Solar Skeleton watch is an affordable luxury that's turning heads.

The Swiss watch world is being elegantly disrupted by the Mondaine Doppio Solar Skeleton watch, a timepiece that beautifully amalgamates style with solar-powered efficiency. Known for timepieces inspired by the minimalist Bauhaus-style design of the Swiss railway clock, Mondaine has hit another high with this attractive yet utilitarian piece.

The Doppio collection was born in 2025, debuting watches that deviated from the usual Mondaine design, yet retained the brand’s core ‘Swiss railway clock’ aesthetic. The Mondaine Doppio Solar Skeleton watch is the next step in the evolution of the Doppio collection, featuring a mesmerising open-worked dial that exhibits the watch’s intricate solar panels.

Two versions of the Doppio Solar Skeleton are available, each with its unique appeal. The first variant (ref. MLE.41921.LBV) couples a polished stainless-steel case with a black vegan leather strap, while the second model (ref. MLE.41921.SM) showcases a gunmetal IP-finished case with a complementary steel mesh bracelet. In both, the matte black dials with open-worked center sections deftly reveal the movements’ solar panels.

Regardless of its strap style, the Mondaine Doppio Solar Skeleton offers a water resistance of up to 50 metres, making it a sturdy companion for everyday use. Harnessing the power of the sun, the Doppio Solar Skeleton makes battery replacements obsolete, enabling timekeeping that is as reliable as it is forward-thinking. This watch proves that Mondaine continues to pioneer affordable luxury while honouring classic aesthetics.
