Angelus Unveils the Striking Limited-Edition Chronographe Tachymètre: A Classic with a Sporty Twist
Renowned watchmaker Angelus is making headlines with the unveiling of three limited-edition watches, coined the Chronographe Tachymètre. Taking inspiration from the admired Chronographe Télémètre, these novelties offer a sportier semblance, deviating from the usual compactness of Angelus’s modern offerings. Uniquely, Angelus has jettisoned the telemeter scale, replacing it with a tachymeter for an enhanced sporty look.
Fashioned as an extension of a previous collaborative venture with Monochrome Watches, the new watches boast an aesthetic reminiscent of midcentury racing watches unlike its predecessor’s double-tracked tachymeter and vintage appeal. The latest design presents an equally impressive bi-register chronograph layout, characterized by a single-track tachymeter and contrasting colors for its subdials.
Housed within the timepiece is the A5000, a manually wound monopusher chronograph movement, crafted specifically for Angelus by La Joux-Perret. The movement is finely finished with a bi-register chronograph with central seconds, a 30-minute totalizer, and a secondary timekeeper at 9 o’clock, extending a 42-hour power reserve.
Overall, Angelus’ Chronographe Tachymètre enjoys a warm welcome, being recognized for its aesthetical appeal and its continued excellence in fine watchmaking. Despite the limited-edition concept, these watches are centered in Angelus’s catalog due to their fresh take on the timeless bicolored dial design and enhanced spacing of the chronograph subdials. Therefore, the launch of Chronographe Tachymètre is indeed a significant step in Angelus’s horological evolution.
