Harmonious Collaboration of German Brand Glashütte Original and Meissen Produces Exquisite Cherry Blossom Themed Senator Watch

After a successful run of porcelain-dial watches in 2025, Glashütte Original, a prestigious German watch manufacturer, persists in its collaboration with the renowned Meissen porcelain house. This partnership brings two illustrious Saxon manufacturers together, with Glashütte Original responsible for the timekeeping mechanics, and Meissen concocting a stunning porcelain dial.

Past editions of watch designs saw themes such as the ‘Mystic Maison’ and ‘Collage’. Delving into this collaboration’s latest endeavor, the Senator Meissen edition embraces a longstanding inspiration in decorative arts, the enchanting cherry blossom. An homage to the early-blooming Japanese Jugatsu-zakura, the delicate petals of the blossoms emerge in shades of white and pink against the snowy porcelain dial, mirroring the aesthetics of a serene Japanese garden.

The dial, hand-painted by Meissen’s skilled artisans, involves several layers of color, each fired individually to achieve the intended aesthetics. The timepiece is powered by Glashütte Original’s Calibre 36-16 (36-01 base), an automatic movement offering a 100-hour power reserve, resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variants due to its silicon balance spring.

The watch exhibits traditional Saxon movement decoration, including the three-quarter plate finished with Glashütte stripes and the hand-engraved balance cock. A skeletonized rotor sports the double-G logo and a solid-gold oscillating weight. The Senator Meissen ‘Cherry Blossom’ is available from October 2026, with an estimated retail price of 30,000 EUR.
