Unveiling a Luminary Finale: Kollokium Closes its Projekt 01 with the Distinctive Luminous Variant H

Emancipating itself from a myriad of previous iterations, the Projekt 01 Variant H encapsulates the essence of Kollokium’s innovative spirit. Launched in 2023, the pioneering Projekt 01 series saw varied aesthetics, an array of materials, and splendid hues, yet the Variant H resonates most visibly with the black-dial design and abstract dial architecture of its earliest editions. Removed from the prevalent polished and brushed exteriors of everyday mechanical watches, the Variant H pioneers an unconventional 40mm by 7mm structure composed of raw-textured, 316L stainless steel that is deployed through die casting. A reincarnation of the innovative Variant F, the Variant H comprises a repositioned case and sapphire crystal, crafted meticulously to envelop the added height of the luminescent hands. Underneath this, the movement finds its asylum slightly towards the base of the case. A crucial part of its appeal is the Projekt 01’s mysterious dial. This dial’s matte-black base is bedecked with 488 cylindrical pins - each painstakingly hand-fixed with Kollokium’s trademark Lichtblock ceramic hybrid technology. Offering the added surprise of a cyan-blue glow in darker environments due to the inclusion of Super-LumiNova BGW9, this feature tempers the design and texture aesthetics of the watch. The La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement lies concealed beneath the closed caseback. This mechanical workhorse, a viable alternative to the ETA 2824, has a 26mm diameter, is 4.45mm thick, pulses at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and offers an admirable 68-hour power reserve. The watch adorns wrist with a cream-white elastic textile strap, aesthetically contrasting the bold black dial and accentuating the appearance of the Lichtblock pins in daylight. An additional black strap is offered with each purchase, both equipped with Kollokium’s distinctive hook fastening technology, allowing for fine-tuned adjustments. Release of this luminescent masterpiece, humbly limited to only 399 pieces, and available solely through Kollokium and select retailers, undoubtedly signifies the pinnacle of the Projekt 01 journey.
