Greubel Forsey, known for its lavish horological designs, adds another feather to its cap with the launch of the new GMT Balancier Convexe in a stunning shade of blue. This model is the latest edition of its original three-dimensional GMT complication introduced a decade ago with a distinctive globe-rotating feature. However, this newer version eschews the tourbillon regulator in favour of an inclined balance wheel and a more centrally-located display of the rotating planet.

The case, crafted from titanium, illustrates the brand’s exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship. The diameter has been slightly reduced from its original size, fitting more comfortably on the wrist, whilst the bezel width has similarly been decreased. The domed sapphire crystals enhance the case’s rugged charm, complemented by a beautiful finish of hand-polished and straight-grained surfaces. Adding to the appeal, the blue-detailed titanium crown features rubber grips.

The blue oceans featured on the revolving terrestrial globe, decorated with intricately engraved continents, extend their cool tones across the bridge surfaces. The titanium globe nests in the deep well, creating a visual amphitheater and completing a 24-hour rotation in real time. Along the broad dial are indicators for both GMT and day and night, while the reference cities engraved on the caseback align with a 24-hour scale for universal time consultation.

Replacing the tourbillon, this new version features an inclined balance wheel angled across the lower part of the dial.
