A Bold Revamp: NOMOS Glashütte's Tangente Neomatik 38 Redefines the Concept of Date Display

Published: 12 Aug 2026
NOMOS Glashütte magnifies the charm of its signature model, the Tangente, with a playful yet purposeful date display innovation.

NOMOS Glashütte, a symbol of sophisticated German designs, presents a brilliant revamp on its signature Tangente model that perfectly encapsulates the brand’s DNA. The slim profile, angular lugs, and the exact use of negative space, the watch is virtually the epitome of the brand’s design philosophy. Launching the Tangente neomatik 38, NOMOS showcases an intriguing balance of functionality and playfulness, presenting a fresh spin on date display.

However, the watch still retains Tangente’s classic characteristics inside the date ring. Arabic numerals alternating with baton hour markers, 6 o’clock recessed small-seconds display, and crisp black hands pop against the light dial, providing a visual clarity that is unmistakably NOMOS.

Staying true to its aesthetics, the watch’s stainless steel casing measures 38.5mm in diameter and 47.3mm from lug to lug, lending it a contemporary aspect while retaining the classic dress watch proportions. Further highlights include a case mere 7.4mm thick, exceptionally slender for a full-date automatic watch. Drawing a touch of architectural charisma, the straight case sides and sharply angled lugs turn the design from regular to exceptional. With every single visible element having a functional purpose, the economy of design is gracefully carried out giving the Tangente its classic personality with a lighthearted twist.
