Unveiling the Charm of Parmigiani Fleurier 30th Anniversary Carillon Tourbillon: A Symphony of Luxury and Watchmaking Perfection

Parmigiani Fleurier, renowned for its exceptional quiet luxury, has outdone itself with the introduction of the Carillon Tourbillon to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary. This coveted timepiece merges their signature minimalistic aesthetics with masterful watchmaking in a magnificent synergy of horological excellence.

To honor this milestone, Parmigiani Fleurier unveiled a limited-edition series of Toric models featuring carefully hand-hammered gold dials - the Toric Petite Seconde, Toric Chronographe Rattrapante, and Toric Quantième Perpétuel - earlier this year. Shortly after, the opulent Carillon Tourbillon made its grand debut.

The Carillon Tourbillon, limited to only 5 pieces, has a hefty price tag of CHF 490,000, making it an exquisite prestige for the select few connoisseurs of horology. Even with its unattainability for most, this creation makes heads turn with its sheer beauty and skilled craftsmanship.

The gold-dial, painstakingly hand-hammered, fills out the remaining space. Each dial is unique due to this process, and when combined with the light ‘Morning Blue’ shade, the effect is similar to a placid lake’s subtle ripples - truly a sight to behold. The absence of any printing, other than the Parmigiani Fleurier logo, on the dial stands in stark contrast with its contemporaries, a relief for those drawn towards minimalism.

The side of the white gold case offers a visage of subtle sophistication, further departing from the standard Toric case design through its vertical gadroons. The distinguishing vertical lines give it texture under the signed crown on the case’s right. The left side frames the broad mechanical slide for the minute repeater. Even though the watch is part of the Toric collection, its case design draws heavily from the brand’s 2024 L’Armoriale Répétition Mysérieuse.

On revealing the caseback, the new manually-winding PF950 caliber, with its carillon minute repeater, takes center stage. Despite the significant thickness of 12.6mm, the height is balanced off by the sculpted crystal giving the illusion of a simple two-hander. However, all scrutiny is forgiven once the exceptional intricacy of the watch’s workings is unveiled.
