A Closer Look at Chopard's Latest L.U.C Time Traveler Watch in a Striking Khaki Twist
Chopard, a name synonymous with exquisite watchmaking, has left horology enthusiasts and collectors pleasantly surprised at the recent Watches and Wonders event. The center of attention, to everyone’s anticipated surprise, was not an avant-garde mechanism but a refined reinterpretation of an already acclaimed watch.
Stirring the waters of conventionality, Chopard introduced a new color dial for the L.U.C. 1860, indicating that sometimes pure refinement can triumph over mechanical innovations. However, another addition from Chopard that made significant waves, albeit subtly, was the L.U.C Time Traveler One ref. 168574-3013, a limited run of 250 pieces that sport a fresh khaki green dial. Set in ceramicized titanium, it marks the tenth anniversary of the Time Traveler One’s launch in 2016.
Currently, it’s the only L.U.C presented with a travel complication. Its slightly rugged look, created by the sandblasted dark grey appearance of the ceramicized grade 5 titanium and a khaki green dial, provides a stark contrast to the polished, dressy demeanor of the other models in the L.U.C series.
The dial is packed with information for the worldtime display - cities on a rotating disc, day/night indication, and a pointer date. Its layered components and materials, including the ceramicized titanium, add to the watch’s distinctive aesthetic. This watch is certain to please collectors seeking timepieces that blend traditional watchmaking with innovative twists.
