Jaeger-LeCoultre Introduces a Smaller, Sleeker Member to Its Modern Polaris Line-up

In response to the cries of watch enthusiasts who adore the stylish allure of the Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Polaris sports watch but find the 42mm case a touch too robust, the renowned Swiss watchmaker has introduced a sleek 40mm version to the collection. The Polaris Date 40 mm dive watch (Ref. Q9128981) is a smaller, refined alternative featuring a lacquered blue gradient dial, again drawing inspirations from the abyss.

However, besides the reduction in size, the brand has also undertaken some aesthetic rearrangements. The logo, previously placed under the ‘12’ Arabic numeral hour marker, has now been conveniently centralized. Further, the word ‘Automatique’ has been replaced by the ‘Swiss Made’ sign-off on the dial, aligning more with the brand’s premium roots.

Despite the smaller case diameter, one minor concern remains - significant gaps are visible between the circular bridge and the case perimeter from the transparent caseback. However, backed by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s legacy and decades of horological expertise, this doesn’t take away from its status as a worthy addition to the Polaris collection.
