Krayon Unveils the Anywhere Parhelion, A Gem-Set Marvel Inspired by Atmospheric Phenomena

The Anywhere watch by Krayon has been a stand-out since its debut in 2020, eclipsing its counterparts with an intriguing divergence from typical astronomical watch designs. The follow-up to the popular Everywhere model, the Anywhere watch can be tailored to any location worldwide, showcasing the exact sunrise and sunset times specifically for its owner. This unique feature continues to situate it as one of the foremost original complications in modern independent watchmaking. Diverse artistic editions have explored this idea even further, with colorful interpretations and unexpected design elements.

The Parhelion retains the mechanical identity of previous Anywhere models, but introduces a visually enticing language of gemstones. Its 42mm case is masterfully crafted from white 18k gold, heavily infused with palladium, which eliminates the need for rhodium plating and offers a perpetual white finish. Despite extensive gem setting, the proportionally elegant case maintains an appealing understatement.

The watch is ornamented with 171 gemstones, including 124 baguette-cut sapphires that dance on the rim, case middle, lugs, and crown side, along with 35 matching sapphires on the white gold pin buckle. The perfection of the gradient progressing from white to midnight blue has been meticulously achieved through careful sourcing of stones—a task that took nearly a year.

A new signature gemstone shape known as Krayon Cut is unveiled with Parhelion. The Y-shaped cut reflects the brand’s logo and is adeptly represented by a single white sapphire symbolizing the brightest point of the parhelion.

The mother-of-pearl centrepiece of the dial with its constantly shifting reflections offers an artistic nod to Greenland’s icy waters. Eleven diamond hour markers using the new Krayon Cut appear to float above the dial thanks to an invisible setting. Circumscribing the dial are sunrise and sunset displays, a rotating 24-hour scale and a date indication at 6 o’clock.
