Unveiling a Classic Reimagined: The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Commemorates the Iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026

Published: 08 Jul 2026
TAG Heuer proudly continues its legacy as a pillar in motorsports with an exclusive, limited-edition watch for the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026.

Since 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, established by the 11th Duke of Richmond, has evolved into an iconic testament of motorsport. Once again, TAG Heuer has returned as the Official Timing Partner for the 2026 festival. This time, the brand presents a unique pop-up encapsulating its rich connection with motorsport. TAG’s pop-up will culminate in a showcase featuring the emblematic Porsche 917, famously driven by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film ‘Le Mans’. Among star attractions will also be a fresh reinterpretation of a brand classic – the Monaco Chronograph, in British Racing Green.

Contrary to expectations, TAG Heuer did not base this new edition on the new ‘Steve McQueen’ Monaco. Instead, it favoured a more conservative version of its square automatic chronograph, with the crown at 3 o’clock. Made of steel, the watch retains a 39mm width, 15mm thickness, and 47mm lug-to-lug measurement, along with 100m water resistance.

The moniker of this special Monaco Chronograph, the ‘Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026’, is derived from its distinctly themed dial. The foundation of the dial is laid in a British Racing Green lacquer, complimented by a sunray-brushed effect. The sub-dials and circular minute ring gracefully stand out in a contrasting beige. Several details like the checkered flag on the seconds hand, the red sub-dial hands, and the red marking at 39 seconds, all add a vibrant racing touch to this timepiece, paying homage to the Festival’s Hillclimb record-holder, the McMurtry Spéirling.

This watch boasts the brand’s own Calibre TH20-00 underneath its sapphire back, an advanced integrated chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing an 80-hour power reserve, this automatic movement is visible under a back, adorned with the Goodwood FOS’ logo. Complementing the watch’s outstanding characteristics, it is paired with a vintage-styled brown perforated leather strap.

The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph x Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 is limited to just 71 pieces worldwide, you can purchase it at the TAG Heuer booth at the Festival.
