TAG Heuer Accelerates into the Fast Lane with Their Revamped Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf

Published: 29 Jun 2026
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection races ahead with an exciting new addition. Embracing a rich motorsport legacy, TAG Heuer introduces the rejuvenated Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf.

Defining the connection between horology and motorsports, TAG Heuer has an enduring affinity with the racing world that began in 1882 when Edouard Heuer patented his first stopwatch. Over the years, the brand has released racetrack-inspired models such as the Autavia, Carrera, and Monaco and broke barriers by sponsoring an F1 driver – the first non-automotive brand to do so.

To celebrate its return as the Official Timekeeper of Formula 1, TAG Heuer has reinvented its Formula 1 collection with the introduction of the Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf. This timepiece pushes TAG’s racing credentials to the forefront by paying homage to the enduring Heuer-Gulf Oil connection. This partnership dates back to 1971, symbolised by Steve McQueen in the film ‘Le Mans’, conquer a racetrack with a Monaco chronograph on his wrist while driving a Gulf-sponsored Porsche 917K.

This new timepiece deviates from its stainless-steel predecessors by featuring a grade 2 titanium chassis – a perfect choice for its robust size of 44mm diameter and 14.1mm thickness. Further enhancing its sporty identity, the case has a sandblasted black DLC finish and an angular shape inspired by an F1 car’s nose. The dial showcases the iconic Gulf Oil blue and orange livery with two bold stripes, giving the watch a distinctive and fun accent. The dial also features black chronograph counters, highlighted by vibrant orange hands, adding a punch of racing aesthetics against a matte black backdrop.

Finally, ensuring no detail is overlooked, this timekeeping masterpiece comes with a fully sandblasted titanium case and bracelet alongside black DLC finishing. Its bold yet elegant design captures the spirit of Formula 1, making it more than just a ticker of time, but a badge of honour for racing enthusiasts.
