Awake Watches Celebrates Craftsmanship with Vibrant Son Maí Guilloché Main Collection

Originally debuted by lifelong watch enthusiast and collector Lilian Thibault in 2019, Awake Watches quickly drew attention with their creative designs imbued with fun elements — from meteorite dials to contemporary styling and artist collaborations. To mark its 5th anniversary in 2024, the brand decided to shift emphasis towards celebrating artisanal craftsmanship. Drawing upon the ancient Vietnamese lacquering technique called Son Maí, Awake Watches crafted a unique collection under the same moniker. The collection, which debuted with silver-leaf dials bursting in vibrant colours, was a success, setting a new direction for the brand.

However, the pièce de résistance of the collection lies in the stunning dial designs. The Son Maí Guilloché Main series captivates with its vibrant red, green, and purple base colours, transitioning into shades of yellow, orange, and deep pink respectively. Each of the three models — Sunset, Alba and Borealis — flaunts a unique guilloché pattern applied painstakingly by hand. The result?
