Introducing Granvelle Renaissance CMM.29: Where French Watchmaking Converges with Refined Architecture

Published: 15 Jun 2026
Taking cues from the 16th-century Palace Granvelle, YEMA's brand new offering is a stunning tribute to French horological history.

Born from the heart of France’s historic watchmaking region, YEMA’s latest standout creation, the Granvelle Renaissance CMM.29, is the epitome of the brand’s rich horological heritage. Located in Morteau, YEMA’s workshops have created a watch that not only honors the craft’s French roots but also pays tribute to the iconic 16th-century Palace Granvelle situated in Besançon, which serves as a hub for watchmaking and houses the famed Museum of Time.

Transforming the harmonious proportions of a renaissance palace into a piece of timekeeping artistry, the Granvelle Renaissance proposes an architectural design that is characterized by depth, symmetry, and sculptural detail. The beauty of it all lies in the watch’s affordability at a price point of €2,100, making it one of the most accessible within the manufacture watchmaking industry.

The dial is a striking example of YEMA’s effort to imbibe the spirit of the renaissance era. Its four-level construction delivers an enriched depth and lighting play, underlined further by a motif taken from the palace’s rooftop geometric patterns. The added embellishments of faceted indices and polished hands drenched in Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A substance, ensure legibility without distracting from the watch’s elegant balance.

Powered by YEMA’s own Manufacture Caliber CMM.29 which features a micro-rotor architecture, the watch demonstrates a unique elegance reflected in the numbers; accuracy levels of -3/+7 seconds, astounding resilience to shocks and magnetic fields, and a power reserve of about 70 hours. The inbuilt CMM.29 design also paves the way for a sophisticated small seconds complication with even the movement’s surfaces shifting with light to create shimmering effects. This timepiece, crafted, assembled and calibrated by the YEMA experts in Morteau, stands as testament to French watchmaking in its full essence.
