Introducing the Gem-Set Trilogy: MB&F's Evolution of the LM Perpetual Watch
Taking the horology world by storm in 2015 with the extraordinary, award-winning LM Perpetual, MB&F joined forces with independent watchmaker Stephen McDonnell to elevate its status in haute horlogerie. The brand is breaking new ground yet again by presenting three gem-set iterations of the iconic LM Perpetual watch.
The LM Perpetual, known for its comprehensive 581-component calibre, has had various metal versions to its credit. However, this time, the watch boasts of a unique attribute - gemstones. This chromatic trilogy marks a vibrant progression in the LM watch line, proving that innovation and beauty can coexist seamlessly in horology.
McDonnell and MB&F have reimagined the standard Quantième Perpétuel (QP) complication by not only flipping it inside out but also revamping it from scratch. As a result, the intricacy of the LM Perpetual’s design language takes centre stage, making the complex construction an integral part of its aesthetic charm.
The new designs, identical in specifications to their predecessors, are available in two 18k white gold models and one 18k red gold variant. The white gold pieces are set with either blue or purple baguette-cut sapphires from Madagascar and Sri Lanka, while the red gold version pairs with red rubies from Mozambique. Hand-set gems add to the allure of the timepieces.
Additional visual variations in the collection are revealed in sub-dial and hand colours which complement the respective gemstone in the bezel, making each edition of the LM Perpetual Chromatic Editions truly unique and highly desirable. This reinvention of the LM Perpetual certainly establishes a new level of luxury in the MB&F range.
