In celebration of its twentieth anniversary, Ochs und Junior, led by the celebrated watchmaker Dr Ludwig Oechslin, has released the Calendario Quattro Anni (CQA), a captivatingly efficient four-year calendar watch. Ensconced between the intricate detailing of his perpetual calendar and the practicality of his annual calendar, this recent iteration needs only one adjustment every four years.

Oechslin’s remarkable talent for producing ingenious solutions to complex problems is well known in horology circles. He illuminates this skill, and his time-honoured minimalist, Bauhaus industrial style, in the Calendario Quattro Anni, showcasing a perfect balance of form and function.

The watch has been designed to offer optimal functionality with minimal components, catering to the variants in months with its 28, 30, and 31 days, and is simply adjusted manually once every leap year, completing its calendar cycle.

The CQA’s impeccable execution extends to its construction. The 2824-2 automatic base, fitted with a modified Maltese cross and a special switching wheel, calculates the length of each month and prevents incorrect dates from appearing on the dial. This superb craftsmanship is encased in a two-part 40mm titanium case that bears the hallmark traces of Oechslin’s meticulous industrial machining. Despite its complexity, the watch weighs just 65 grams, including the strap and buckle, making it an elegant and practical accessory for the discerning watch enthusiast on the go.
