Starting as a specialist in bracelets and waterproof cases, ZRC gravitated towards the world of professional diving watches in the late 1950s. The brand earned its reputation when the French Navy commissioned the robust Grands Fonds line, a collection of highly-engineered timepieces designed specifically for underwater use.

ZRC’s distinctive feature is the unconventional construction of their watches, characterised by the signature crown placed at 6 o’clock and the innovative Crown Protection System (CPS). Such unique design elements, coupled with superior performance, made the Grands Fonds the trusted tool for military divers for several decades. Now, under the stewardship of Georges Brunet since the mid-2010s, ZRC continues its voyage into the depths, focusing almost exclusively on diving watches.

The Grands Fonds MN64 Titanium pair captures this unique legacy, introducing a luxurious dimension to the concept. The watches, available in either full titanium or a combination of titanium and FKM rubber strap, feature ZRC’s Easy Clean System (ECS) and programmed deformation for superior reliability, embodying a minimalist yet functional ideology.

With a robust 41.5mm diameter case, the new models maintain the angular geometry and innovative design, now reimaged in grade 5 titanium. This revolutionary use of materials lightens the weight without compromising durability. ZRC furthers its commitment to comfort by refining the ergonomics to reduce the thickness by 1mm compared to previous models.

Making no compromises on its diving credentials, these watches are water-resistant up to 3000m and have reportedly exceeded 5000m in controlled conditions. Enhanced by a patented caseback system and the CPS mechanism, the MN64 Titanium Edition watches are arguably the most purpose-driven diving watches on the market today.

The full Titanium version features a sunray black dial, while the Titanium Rubber version sports a gradient from blue to black dial.
