Haute-Rive Introduces Revamped Honoris Series, Now in High-Grade Stainless Steel
Haute-Rive, a young and independent watchmaking brand, is making a name for itself with its latest release - steel versions of the Honoris series. Rooted in a rich family tradition that dates back to 1888, the brand stays true to its heritage while daringly pushing the boundaries of horological innovation.
Founded by Stéphane von Gunten, an engineer and watchmaker whose impressive portfolio includes experience at Patek Philippe and Ulysse Nardin, Haute-Rive strikes a compelling balance between past, present, and future. Named after the historic workshop of von Gunten’s ancestor, Irénée Aubry, Haute-Rive has a reputation for crafting long-power-reserve pocket watches - a legacy it proudly carries forward with its Honoris series.
The case measurements of the Honoris Strato remain unchanged, boasting a 42.5mm diameter and a slim height of 11.95mm, an impressive feature given the immense power the movement delivers. High-grade stainless steel, selected for its purity and corrosion resistance, is now used, maintaining the same standards of finish as previous gold editions.
Beyond just the aesthetics, the Strato Verde and Strato Blu editions maintain the brand’s tradition of treating the dial as a stage for mechanics. Inspired by the shifting tones of Lake Neuchâtel under stormy skies, the Strato Verde features a dark green dial with a grained texture. The Strato Blu, on the other hand, spotlights a rich blue dial with a brushed finish, reminiscent of reflections of light on water.
With the latest Honoris steel editions, Haute-Rive convincingly demonstrates its commitment to bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, creating luxury timepieces that are not only rewarding to own, but also a joy to wear.
