Published: 25 Apr 2026
Van Cleef & Arpels continues its horological heritage with its fascinating new timepiece, the Midnight Jour Nuit Phase De Lune, designed to turn heads and challenge traditional chronographs.

Paris-based luxury watchmaker, Van Cleef & Arpels is known for its innovative and aesthetically delightful precision timepieces. The latest addition to its repertoire is the men’s model Midnight Jour Nuit Phase de Lune – French for “Midnight Day/Night Moon Phase” which was released recently. This exquisite timepiece combines mechanical innovation with the kind of mesmerising decoration only an elite maison such as Van Cleef & Arpels could achieve. The timepiece builds on celestial themes, a specialty of Van Cleef’s since 1929, and reveals an impressive in-house designed movement.

Van Cleef & Arpels did not disclose many details about the technicalities of the watch like its operational frequency. However, it is known that the watch has a power reserve of 36 hours, courtesy of the self-winding automatic mechanism. One could argue that the large visible pusher on the side of the case could be its only flaw, but ultimately it enhances the wonder of interacting with this timepiece. All in all, this is not just a watch, but a testament to Van Cleef & Arpels’s capacity to merge design, innovation, and poetic aesthetics into an architectural marvel on a wrist.
