Innovating Classic Artisanal Craftsmanship: Louis Erard's New Regulator Esprit Flinqué
The Regulator Esprit Flinqué is the fruit of Louis Erard’s vision to democratize métiers d’art and engage with independent artisans in redefining high-end watchmaking. Embodying the unification of art and horology, this timepiece boasts stunning dials inspired by the art of flinqué enamel.
Louis Erard is redefining the artform traditionally embraced by only pricier brands by infusing it into more accessible timepieces. One of them is Louis Erard’s Regulator, which under the leadership of Manuel Emch, became a canvas for artistic reinterpretation. The Regulator is notable for its triple-axe layout that separately exhibites hours, minutes, and seconds, which offers a dynamic visual experience to the wearer.
The latest iteration of the Regulator features a fascinating interplay of flinqué enamel-inspired dials. On the heels of a successful performance with Worn & Wound, Louis Erard continues its momentum with a sophisticated blue and trendy new grey dial.
The Esprit Flinqué sets its sights on replicating the artisanal technique of flinqué enamel. Its fluted pattern radiates from the central axis reminiscent of the genteel and detailed aesthetic of the technique it was inspired by. When exposed to light, the fluted ridges give off subtle shadows and striking reflections which further enhance the underlying layers.
Beneath its domed sapphire crystal, the watch houses a robust Sellita SW266-1 movement marked by manual winding and a balanced frequency of 28,800vph. All these elements come together within a 39mm polished three-part stainless steel case, protecting the rhythm of time under a transparent crystal caseback.
