TAG Heuer Reimagines Chronograph Design with the Adventurous Monaco 'Evergraph'

Published: 19 Apr 2026
In a groundbreaking move, TAG Heuer introduces the Monaco 'Evergraph', an iconic chronograph evolved with sophisticated Nickel-Phosphorus components.

In the wake of its premier split-second chronograph timepiece, TAG Heuer continues to pioneer in the field of horology, this time unveiling the groundbreaking Monaco ‘Evergraph’. This masterpiece showcases a 40mm by 14.5mm square case made from grade 5 titanium, marrying seamlessly with TAG Heuer’s modernistic, open-worked aesthetic.

The highlight of this horological marvel lies in its innovative internals. TAG Heuer ingeniously removes much of the conventional chronograph’s workings, replacing them with two flexible Nickel-Phosphorus components that manage most of the timing functions. The modification aims to further Jack Heuer’s quest for durability, precision, and reliability. The net result is a chronometer with fewer parts, minimized wear and tear, and achieving the desirable COSC-certified status while boasting a natural 1/10th-second vertical clutch chronograph.

What TAG Heuer has managed to do is both reduce and reimagine the functional elements of the chronograph mechanism. While the Evergraph is priced at $28,500 and is a retail product, it also doubles as a platform for experimentation and future innovation. It hearkens back to the company’s daring and forward-thinking approach to crafting high-end, concept-style watches throughout the 21st century.

The unveiling of TAG Heuer’s first split-second chronograph wristwatch in 2024 served as a pivot point, redirecting the company’s focus towards offering complex, high-priced watches. Its latest masterpiece, the Monaco ‘Evergraph’, comes in a square automatic movement, eschewing traditional pivoting levers and springs and implementing a single Nickel-Phosphorus UV LIGA-printed hammer that alternates between its two innate forms for the chronograph operation. This daring gamble on innovation goes to cement TAG Heuer’s position as a fearless trendsetter in cutting-edge horology.
