Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Reimagined – A Compelling Dip into a More Compact Model

Published: 16 Apr 2026
Bulgari redefines finesse with the introduction of a smaller, 37mm Octo Finissimo housing an innovative in-house movement.

No longer a secret in the watchmaking world, the much-anticipated, compact version of Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo has been unveiled. For those fans who have admired the concept but preferred a smaller iteration, the volley has been heard. Bulgari presents the delectable Octo Finissimo in a 37mm by 6.35mm case, available in titanium or yellow gold.

This miniature marvel comes twelve years after the debut of the first Octo Finissimo, and nine years following the release of the 40mm automatic variant. Bulgari exhibits mastery of execution in the constricted dimensions, managing to fit a brand new movement, the BVF 100 caliber.

The BVF 100 caliber, a micro-rotor movement, is remarkable indeed amid the Octo Finissimo’s slim proportions. It features a soleil-style Côtes de Genève radiating from the balance. At 2.35mm, it is slightly thicker than the 2.23 mm-thick BVL 138 in the 40mm version but proffers an impressive 72-hour power reserve. Interestingly, the movement’s slim profile has facilitated a 20% reduction in total volume.

While the octagonal marvel keeps a modest 30m water-resistance rating, it is highly unlikely users aim to plunge into the deep with an Octo Finissimo. To comprehend the magic, one can compare the original 40mm by 5.15mm sandblasted titanium version with the compact 37mm by 6.35mm model. They bear a striking resemblance, and the size alteration is almost unnoticeable at first glance.
