Reviving Tradition in Style: Piaget Introduces Gadroon-Detailed Dials in its Polo Signature Date 42 Collection
At the recent Watches & Wonders 2026 event, Piaget made a captivating revelation. The brand took its iconic Polo Date range to a new aesthetic level by introducing the age-old gadroon detailing on its fresh editions called the Polo Signature Date 42 collection. Drawing inspiration from its Polo 79 collection, the Polo Signature Date 42 gets a regal revamp with the famous convex flutes spanning out across the watch face in a dial-only format. Five unique variations were displayed, each enhancing the modern Polo’s charm.
The dimensionally perfect watches boast cushion-shaped cases with a diameter of 42mm and thickness of 9.4mm, except for the diamond-studded edition that stands slightly taller at 10.1mm. The cases bear the distinctive alternation of matte and polished surfaces, resonating with the original design. The Polo Signature Date 42 watches, available in both steel and rose gold variants, come with matching bracelets or rubber straps.
Among the eagerly awaited pieces, one of the favourites is the steel version with a novel blue dial and an integrated bracelet. The comprehensive range also presents watches in silver dial with green khaki rubber strap, and versions in blue dial with blue rubber strap. The exclusive gem-set edition in rose gold, beset with brilliant cut diamonds on the bezel, is a tribute to the expert craftsmanship of the leading jewelry and watch house. The cases being water resistant up to 100 meters, makes the collection a sportier offering from Piaget as well.
