March LA.B, the Indie French brand, is riding the retro wave with the launch of their latest surfer-inspired timepieces, the 1970s styled Belza Twin in bronze.

Named after the month March, along with an acronym representing Los Angeles and Biarritz, March LA.B has built its recognition on a collection of products that instill a sense of cool surfer style combined with a touch of retro. Among their offerings, one standout collection is their Surf watch collection that includes the stylish Belza divers and Bonzer surfer watches.

The most recent addition to their portfolio is the Belza Twin editions. Encased in maritime-friendly bronze, this watch is a tribute to Villa Belza, a 19th-century mansion in Biarritz, France that sits atop a rocky cliff. The mansion overlooks the beach of Côte des Basques that saw a surge in surfing’s popularity during the 1950s, thus making Villa Belza a landmark in European surfing history. The Belza Twin choice of name extends the connection with surfing, working as a nod towards a specific type of surfboard, the twin-fin.

The watch housing a Swiss automatic movement by La Joux-Perret, assembled in the watchmaking town of Besançon, France. This provides a reliable power reserve of 68 hours. The dial features a series of etched horizontal waves, and the rectangular indices have a Super-LumiNova-filled centre that matches the blunt-tipped hour and minute hands.

The Belza Twin pair effortlessly with a green or black jacquard strap, woven by Manufacture Julien Faure in France, reflecting the brand’s roots in French craftsmanship.
