Breakthrough on Wrist: Bremont Unveils Altitude Chronograph Pulsograph Valjoux 23, a Nod to Vintage
The watch aficionados echoed fear of losing the distinctive aviation spirit Bremont was known for when CEO Davide Cerrato stepped up in 2023. The fear, though, was dashed with the unveiling of a refurbished Altitude Collection in 2025. The collection, a progression of the ultra-durable Martin-Baker (MB) pilot watches bearing the Trip-Tick cases, kept the legacy intact. Bremont revisits its roots once more, as it launches a special edition of the Altitude Chronograph Pulsograph Valjoux 23.
Bremont stuns the horology world by infusing a new-old-stock (NOS) Valjoux 23 chronograph movement in this limited-edition watch. The Valjoux 23, one of the most esteemed manual-winding chronograph movements of the 20th century, was produced from 1916 to 1974. The movement has been widely leveraged by top-tier brands like Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Vacheron Constantin further adding the desirability quotient to the watch.
Chronode, the esteemed haute horlogerie atelier founded by Jean-François Mojon, sourced, restored, and arrived with the finishing touches to the manual-winding Valjoux 23 movement. The overhauled movement now shines with contemporary finishes. The bridges reflect a finely grained surface juxtaposed with mirror-polished chamfers.
The Altitude Chronograph Pulsograph Valjoux 23 steals the show with its vintage hued dial. The salmon dial, characterizing the pinkish-coppery dials of the Art Deco era, synergises a pulsometer scale on the periphery. The vintage chronograph watch thus stands as an exemplar of Bremont’s aviation roots and its commitment to continual evolution.
