A. Lange & Söhne's latest marvel, the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Lumen blends intricate complications with pioneering Lumen treatment.

A. Lange & Söhne presents a marvel of mechanical artistry with the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Lumen, a radiant fusion of two pioneering features of the brand - the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar and the groundbreaking Lumen technology. This limited edition timepiece, confined to just 50 pieces, boasts a new and more complex calibre, L225.1, showcased strikingly on the dial and caseback.

Characterised by the brand’s idiosyncratic off-centred configuration, core functions, and proportions, this timepiece is an exquisite rendition of Lange’s horological expertise. Its sapphire dial, gracefully semi-transparent, reveals meticulously finished components. In conditions of low light, the dial blooms into a fascinating display, courtesy of Lange’s Lumen treatment which forges a mysterious green glow on the indications.

The Lange 1 Lumen concept was born out of Anthony de Haas’ desire to view his platinum Zeitwerk in the dark, leading to the application of luminescent material on the numeral discs. Unfortunately, their frequent switching provided insufficient charging time, giving birth to the brand’s innovative solution - a tinted, semi-transparent sapphire dial, which blocks most visible light but allows ultraviolet light to luminate.
