Reviving Time: Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 Jubilee Edition Ushers in a Colourful Celebration with Historic Motif

Published: 29 Apr 2026
Rolex brings a vibrant revamp to the Oyster Perpetual 36, pairing its proven horology with a jubilant festival of colours.

Rolex, a name synonymous with luxury watchmaking, presents a spirited, creative twist on an iconic model: the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36. Now, the historic Jubilee motif is breathed new life with a palette of ten rich colours, resulting in a dial filled with captivating vibrancy and vintage appeal.

The Oyster Perpetual, a classic timepiece dating back to 1926, is well-regarded as a watch that encapsulates the soul of Rolex. It is known for its precision, robustness, and classic look that fits effortlessly on the wrist — details optimized and refined over the decades. Although the latest masterpiece from Rolex houses similar specs, it dares to take a fresh, innovative leap.

Taking centre stage, however, is the lacquered, multi-coloured jubilee dial, which is a nod to the motif introduced in the late 1970s and the artwork of Italian artist Alighiero Boetti. Now, the brand’s name is joyously repeated in different colours, making the dial a showcase of vibrant chaos. Despite this aesthetic addition, readability remains high, with 18k white gold markers and hands filled with Rolex’s proprietary Chromalight.

Powering this timepiece is the automatic in-house calibre 3230, boasting a Chronergy escapement for enhanced efficiency and a 70-hour power reserve. The new Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 is priced at EUR 6,500, striking a balance between vintage charm and modern horology.
