Reviving the Legacy: L. Leroy's Elyor Flying Tourbillon Heralds a New Era in Timekeeping

Published: 24 Apr 2026
Leroy, the renowned Parisian horology house, introduces another exceptional timepiece, Elyor Flying Tourbillon, continuing its intricate journey of revival.

The legacy of excellence and innovation established by the Parisian maison L. Leroy in 1785 is being resurrected in the 21st century. The watchmaker to King Louis XVI, Napoleon I, and Queen Victoria has been reborn under the leadership of the Festina Group. Known for creating the Leroy 01, one of the world’s most complicated pocket watches, the brand is staking its claim on haute horlogerie.

L. Leroy unveiled their Osmior Bal du Temps, a complication featuring both a minute repeater and tourbillon, in 2025. In 2026, L. Leroy introduces a simpler yet equally captivating complication: the Elyor Flying Tourbillon. With a case boasting contemporary proportions encased in a classic drum shape, the Elyor Tourbillon is an embodiment of the brand’s legacy and its commitment to innovation.

The dial of the Elyor Tourbillon pays homage to the company’s legacy, with traditional decorative details like a guilloché Clous de Paris motif composed of small pyramids. With a visual aesthetic that is reminiscent of Abraham-Louis Breguet’s design language, the influence of the past is unmistakable. Yet, it charts a course to the future, with spacing and typography that would appeal to modern aficionados of horology.

As L. Leroy steps forward into the future, it does so not by denying its past, but by embracing the legacy of the past within the mechanism of the present. The Elyor Flying Tourbillon is not just a timepiece but a statement – the revitalization of L. Leroy’s glorious heritage in the present-day world of horology.
