Ahead of the highly anticipated Watches & Wonders 2026 in Geneva, Gerald Charles stuns horology enthusiasts with the debut of their most mechanically complex model, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar. This masterpiece stands out in the realm of high-horology, challenging the dominance of Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak and Patek Philippe’s Nautilus in the sophisticated field of mechanically complex integrated bracelet designs.
Investing in both tradition and innovation, Gerald Charles’ Masterlink Perpetual Calendar integrates an asymmetric Baroque-inspired case profile, an original design by Gérald Genta from 2005. The models showcase the brand’s commitment to its signature aesthetic, featuring a micro-rotor perpetual calendar movement that aligns with the asymmetric shape of the case. Diverging from their signature Maestro collection, Gerald Charles chose to highlight their own new in-house perpetual calendar movement within the Masterlink collection, which first appeared to the world at Watches & Wonders 2024.
Balancing complexity with elegance, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar—comprising 33 individual components—sports a 40mm diameter case, encapsulating a self-winding movement with a perpetual calendar complication and moonphase display. Yet, despite its intricate architecture, the watch maintains a svelte 10mm height. Complementing its imposing structure is a pyramid-shaped crown that ensures a considerable 100 meter water resistance. It also offers two dial configurations - a traditional solid dial with a gray fumé finish and a transparent sapphire dial. Both versions seamlessly extend into the links of an integrated bracelet, enhancing the design symmetry.
As with its past offerings, the brand’s latest innovation caters to a wide range of style preferences and wrist sizes. For larger wrists, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar provides a substantial presence that is comfortably offset by the watch’s design.
