The Launch of Vacheron Constantin's Grandest Boutique in America: A Fusion of Horology, Art, and Culture
Vacheron Constantin, rich in nearly two centuries of history in the United States, chooses the city of Miami as the location to open its largest boutique in the Americas. Miami’s vibrant and artistic character seamlessly blends with Vacheron Constantin’s centuries-long record of innovation and craftsmanship. To celebrate this significant event, prominent figures in the world of high horology gathered for a discussion on the brand’s unique attributes, its connection to them, and its contribution to refining traditional watchmaking. Participants such as Alexander Schmiedt, President of Vacheron Constantin Americas, and Ben Clymer, Founder of Hodinkee, led the discussion. One of the central themes of the discussion was Vacheron Constantin’s human touch in a largely machine-driven industry. As the evening progressed, attention turned towards Vacheron Constantin’s Les Cabinotiers and Métiers d’Art collections, which represent the zenith of technical design. The attendees, including those who had travelled from afar, admired the stunning watches and shared the intriguing stories behind certain vintage timepieces. In addition, the firm’s Traditionnelle Tourbillion watch, with its baguette diamond bezel and beautiful green Mother of Pearl dial, was a noteworthy sight. Clymer noted the inherent rarity of these watches. This inaugural event also marked the launch of the Concours d’Élégance Horlogère, a contest that unearths long-lost timepieces that may not have extant siblings. Submissions for this contest will be accepted through to the end of April 2026, with 35 finalists to be announced in Geneva this November. Attendees left the Miami boutique with a renewed appreciation for Vacheron Constantin’s contribution to traditional watchmaking.
