Raymond Weil Salutes 50 Years of Horological Excellence with 'The Fifty', a Watch with Valjoux Movement

Published: 01 Apr 2026
Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil celebrates its golden jubilee with a tribute to its genesis: a new watch – The Fifty.

Celebrating five decades of masterful Swiss watchmaking, Raymond Weil presents ‘The Fifty’, a divine blend of heritage and innovation. This chronograph, thriving with a neo-vintage appeal, carries the restored Valjoux 23-6 column-wheel chronograph from 1976. The birth year of the brand breathes new life into the timepiece, thus arousing interest among a fresh league of neo-vintage aficionados.

The brand, emerging from the fertile lands of Geneva, was founded by Raymond Weil in 1976. Though the brand vowed to deliver quality watches at fair prices, it only caught the eye of connoisseurs in 2023, when it launched the Millesime Small Seconds model. Hinged on the success of the Millesime collection, Raymond Weil raises the game with ‘The Fifty’.

The silvery-grey sector dial, a clear ode to Raymond Weil’s Millesime line, lends a distinctive quotient of depth andtexture to the wristwatch. Super-LumiNova-treated indices complement the dial, which also houses two recessed sub-dials. The watch hands are adorned with Super-LumiNova inlays, perfectly matching the central chronograph seconds hand.

The Fifty features the revitalized Valjoux calibre 23-6, an evolution of the classical Valjoux 23. Born in 1976, the movement syncs with the brand’s founding year. With a blend of restoration and intricate hand-decoration, this vintage chronograph is an instant classic that flaunts a column wheel and horizontal clutch.
