Fashion Meets Craftsmanship: David Candaux's Latest Horological Masterpiece—The DC6 Night Forest
Continuing a legacy that commenced in 2017 with the DC1, David Candaux, a veteran horologist from Vallée de Joux and alumnus of Jaeger-LeCoultre, further enthralls the world of horology with the newest addition—the DC6 Night Forest. Birthed by a blend of unprecedented craftsmanship and an innovative material choice of UD carbon and titanium, this new timepiece is built not only to be lighter (weighing just 45 grams), but also more resilient and technically captivating than its predecessors.
The Night Forest’s dial introduces a fresh colour palette and elements with a signature layout that is unmistakably DC6: hours and minutes at 3 o’clock, power reserve at 12, and the tourbillon at 9 doubling as small seconds. The DC6 Night Forest encapsulates an alpine essence right within its dial. The domed titanium base adopts a sunburst finish, and is anodized to render a deep topaz green, reminiscent of serene alpine lakes. Accentuated with silver powder applied numerals appearing suspended within the dial and complemented with black-gold minute tracks that add a sophisticated outline to the display.
Powering this piece of art is the in-house calibre H74, developed and meticulously assembled in Le Solliat. This movement, inclined by 3° relative to the case, provides exceptional performance and simultaneously, a visually stunning architecture. Never has the fusion of art and horology been more perfectly encapsulated.
