Greubel Forsey Flags Off a Masterpiece: The Two Last Limited Editions of the Balancier Convexe S²

Published: 23 Mar 2026
Greubel Forsey, known and loved for precision and classic craftsmanship, bids farewell to its famed Balancier Convexe S², serving the last two limited editions in dramatic black and white ceramic.

Marking a notable turn in the journey of revered watchmaker Greubel Forsey, the brand is releasing its final versions of the Balancier Convexe S². The revered Balancier Contemporain made its exit last year, indicating a shift in the brand’s direction. Simultaneously, co-founder Stephen Forsey stepped down from the board. Under the leadership of CEO Michel Nydegger, Greubel Forsey has been transitioning towards the production of exclusive, high-priced timepieces with an emphasis on wearability.

They also showcase the brand’s signature loaded visible gearing on the front, an inclined Greubel Forsey balance wheel system, and a suspended arch bridge for hours and minutes. The Balancier Convexe S² grave its mark in horology with a complex watchmaking design, albeit with a sports design. Albeit a decent 30m water resistance, it demands the same sensitive handling as many of its horological peers.

These final versions are anticipated to surpass their predecessor, Balancier Contemporain, with a more athletic appeal and a technicality that leaves even Richard Mille in the dust. With high standards in horology driven by perfection, the sporty designs served in refined ceramic are priced at CHF 295,000, aligning perfectly with the haute lineage and the high horology aesthetics Greubel Forsey meticulously curates.
