A New Wave in Watchmaking: Awake’s Son Mai Silver Leaf ‘Atlantis Blue’ Edition Sets Sail

Awake, a progressive Parisian watch company known for its sustainable ethos has unveiled a vibrant addition to their product lineup. The brand’s Son Mai Silver Leaf collection introduces an enchanting ‘Atlantis Blue’ 100-piece limited edition, which beautifully encapsulates the brand’s green philosophy.

Founded by Lilian Thibault in 2019, Awake’s devotion to ecological practices in watchmaking is remarkable. The company’s Son Mai collection, launched in 2024, harmonises this ethos with exceptional craftsmanship. Known for its handcrafted lacquered dials made by Vietnamese art professionals, the collection effectively combines minimalist design to magnify the impact of the lacquer work.

This new ‘Atlantis Blue’ model comes with a lovely blueish-green gradient dial, with a lighter centre and a more vibrant periphery. The peculiar colour is reminiscent of the legendary underwater city of Atlantis. Another distinctive feature of the collection is the unique luminescent signature, where the light is meticulously carved from below the hands, creating a striking glowing backlight.

Upholding its commitment to sustainability, the timepiece is created using recycled stainless steel with a thickness of 11.8mm. As well as sporting a striking look, the watch is footed by a reliable La Joux-Perret automatic three-hand movement, offering a 68-hour power reserve. The watch is complemented by a French handcrafted peacock blue suede strap. More than just a timekeeper, this new edition reaffirms Awake’s dedication to environmental preservation.
