Rising from the Past: Tissot Breathes New Life into the Legendary Visodate Watch Collection

Published: 17 Mar 2026
Beloved for its affordability and versatile design, Tissot's iconic Visodate watch collection is making a triumphant return.

The Tissot Visodate, known for its wallet-friendly cost and sleek versatility, had vanished from the markets around 2023. Alongside models like the Seiko SKX and the Orient Bambino, the Visodate housed a prime spot in the list of preferred novice options for mechanical horology enthusiasts. These timepieces distinguished themselves through their well-executed craftsmanship and easy accessibility. The Seiko emerged as a tool watch, the Orient upheld the charm of dress watches, and the Visodate presented a blend, leaning more towards elegance but with a sporty edge to ensure adaptability.

With evolving consumer preferences, the Visodate transitioned into a larger and lesser refined form with an added day display. The most recent variant seen before the collection’s phasing out reflects these changes. The revived Visodate resonates more closely with the original model’s aesthetic sensibilities. This comeback packs in more punch, considering its robust all-round performance capability.

The Visodate’s rejuvenated avatar sports a 39mm diameter—unchanged on paper but revolutionary in design. The midcase, now thinner and with an entirely brushed finish, gently curves inwards. The only polished features on this new model are the chamfer and bezel. Equipped with a box sapphire crystal and an upgraded water resistance of 50m, the reimagined Visodate underlines its commitment to improved performance. The lug, brushed and sloping inwards, departs from the simpler design ethos of the previous version, creating a more visually dynamic impression.
