Swatch's AI Dada tool is now universally available, offering bespoke watch designs by integrating individual inputs with AI-driven creativity.

The future of personal watch design has arrived with the launch of Swatch’s AI Dada tool. Making its way to the U.S. and the rest of the world, this innovative design platform uses artificial intelligence to turn customer ideas into intricate, bespoke quartz timepieces. Only 300 words limit the vision users can share with the AI, shaping the unique design of a ‘New Gent’ 41 millimeter diameter watch. Rotary dial enthusiasts can rejoice with up to three new designs proposed by the AI on the Swatch website every day. And those smitten with any of the designs can see them turned into reality, with Swatch promising to ship these uniquely crafted pieces within merely five days. At a competitive price of $195, these AI-generated creations represent a new era of accessible, custom-designed luxury. The AI Dada tool, an homage to the avant-garde Dada art movement of the early 20th century, had initially been launched in Switzerland and select parts of Europe. It intelligently weaves together the user’s ideas with the rich history of Swatch, creating timepieces that reflect the wearer’s personality. According to Carlo Giordanetti, a member of Swatch’s Management Board and the CEO of the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, the AI Dada tool signifies a leap forward in customer engagement, enabling a deeper exploration of personal style and tastes. Emphasizing that every interaction with AI Dada is essentially a ‘dialogue with oneself’, Giordanetti highlights the transformative potential of using artificial intelligence in the artful creation of watches. Trials have shown the AI Dada tool’s capability to create striking and personality-infused designs. From simple style and color preferences to specific instructions, the tool uses all these cues to create watches that match the unique aesthetic of each customer.
